Photo Challenge Drop Out
Hey amigos,
I am a photo challenge drop out. It looks like I just couldn't mesh my crazy schedule and taking the correct photo on the day assigned. I know some of you really enjoyed the photos, and I'm sorry about not fulfilling the duty. The good news is, I've taken other photos to make up for it!
Recently I've been hearing a high pitched chirping noise coming from next door and I was wondering what the noise might be. So I grabbed my camera and went to investigate. Sure enough, underneath my neighbors carport was a swallows nest with two baby swallows. I didn't want to disturb them too much, but I was able to snap a few photos of the happy family.
On another note, clinicals are going well. They are exhausting and challenging, but I am learning a lot from the experience. I truly admire the work of CNA's and I'm glad I got to experience working alongside them. The nursing home facility I am working at is sub-par, and It reaffirmed my decision to never put anyone I love in a nursing home. However, I understand that this sort of option is necessary for some people. I do encourage that extensive research is done when placing your loved one in a nursing home, and visits and check ups on staff occur often. It is heart-wrenching to see some of the patient's in distress in the last years/days of their lives. However, as CNA's/Future nurses in training we are doing are best to bring a smile to the residents faces and provide the quality care they deserve.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Cheers!

Hello everyone,
I am deep in the heart of my clinical training and just don't have the time to fulfill my photo challenge duties, so I am taking a break. I will make sure to do a post catching up with all the photos I missed!
Life happens....and I love it!
Cheers!

June 19: Summer
Happy Father's Day everyone! Feliz Dia del Padres!!
Today we had a great dinner up by the mountains to celebrate my awesome dad!
Even though it was super windy the "smoke haze" from all the fires cleared up just in time for me to get a shot of the mountains. I have been a little on edge due to seeing fireworks stands popping up around town.
Fireworks + dry season = disaster.
I love the Sandia Mountains, please don't catch on fire.
Please Pray for rain.

June 17: Bokeh
Hello everyone,
Yes, I took a photo of my lunch. I thought it was really cute and it was actually quite tasty.
It was St. Dalfour Gourmet on the Go meals. I highly recommend them and they're low on calories. Not to mention super yummy! My meal today was wild Alaskan salmon with some potatoes and veggies, and all for 105 calories. Not too bad! For more info on these meals click here.
I'm sorry for the lack of creativity in photos lately, I've been getting my ass kicked in my and Nursing assistance course. It's not very difficult, but it requires a lot of time and a lot of memorization of certain a lot of different skills. However, it's been an amazing experience and I am thankful it is a requirement before you actually start nursing school.
Anyways, the smoke has finally cleared up here and tomorrow I begin running again with the Lululemon run club! I'm really looking forward to getting back in stride!
Have a great weekend!

June 16: Mason Jar/Jelly Jar
I love Mason Jars!
You can use them for so many things. I particularly like to use them to keep hydrated with some quality H2O!
However, my love for Mason Jars doesn't stop at just filling them with water. Check out this creative idea on making yourself a Mason Jar Meal from the decorated cookie.
Check out more info on these super cute mason jar meals here.

June 14: Someone You Love
It seems everyone I love decided to take a vacation or go out of town today. So, lucky for me I was digging through my wallet at Trader Joe's and found my favorite photo booth picture from 2009. It's my Señor and I being silly at a summer wedding. I had completely forgot about having this in my wallet. I am so happy to have found it again.
P.S. I know I am making that stupid "duck face" It's very 2009.

I will admit, I am starting to get bored with this challenge.
Cindy at Loteria Chicana was right!
Oh well, Onward to finish the challenge! Maybe the creative photo fairy will punch me in the face while I'm sleeping.

June 10: Animals
This photo was snapped last minute. I apologize for the blurriness. If you can't make out what it is. It's a photo of a swallows nest with. I love how the one swallow is on the lookout for what I assume is the female sitting in the nest.
P.S. This photo was taken under my neighbors garage. I am so lucky they didn't come out and shoot me. :0)
Oh well, mission accomplished!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

June 09: Fresh Fruit
This is a lovely baby peach from our beautiful peach tree. We are super anxious for the peaches to ripen, so we can make some pie!
On a side note: Seeing these peaches came at a big surprise. WE had a terrible freeze this past winter and we were certain that our peach tree wouldn't produce and fruit this year. Well, our resilient tough peach tree proved us wrong. WE are stoked!!

June 08: Sunset
I have to admit. I've cheated. These photos were taken yesterday at sunset, but I just had to share how freaky the sun looked yesterday.
This pink/reddish looking sun is due to the Arizona wildfire that is currently 0% contained. The raging fire has been affecting our air quality and visibility with a cloud of smoke that has made it's way to the Albuquerque area. These terrible conditions have been a huge bummer for us folks who like to exercise outside. The smoke really thickens at sunset and you can feel it burning in your lungs and hurting your eyes. It almost feels like we live on Mars. It's quite eerie.

This evening I tried to take a photo of the sunset hoping for a repeat of yesterday, but the smoke conditions have blocked out the sky so that you can't even see the mountains. So, I figured it would be better to just stay inside for health reasons. I hope and pray that they contain the wildfire in AZ soon, and that no one gets hurt in the process of doing so or evacuating.
Cheers.

June 07: High Angle
These are our rouge green onions!
This is a high angle view photo of them from our backyard. WE do try to use them in whatever meal we can, but sometimes they get ahead of us. However, I do love when they grow tall enough to flower. It almost looks like they are from another planet.

June 06: Books
We have traveling minds.
The Lonely Planet Travel Book on the bottom is a great book to own.
The Señor and I enjoy playing a game where we close the book and open it to a random page, and whatever country we land on we make plans in the future to visit. It's fun! :)
Book can be found at: www.amazon.com/Lonely-Planet-Travel-Book-Mini/dp/1741040051

June 02: Your favorite shoes
These shoes are my favorite. They are Asics Mexico 66 and they have traveled with me to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina, UK, and Paris France.
These shoes get a fair amount of attention. I love it when I wear these shoes and strangers stop me and say "Hey, your shoes take me back."
