Martin Luther King Day

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.
Martin Luther King Jr.

It was Martin Luther King's Jr. words and movement that inspired me to get involved with the gay rights movement. I could not bare or understand the fact that my friends who are good people and serve their community and country often, would not be allowed the same rights as myself. One day, I hope everyone can fully understand the meaning of Dr. MLK's words and the message behind it.

"It was just as our forefathers had envisioned: that one day people who had
been discriminated against for their religion, or the color of their
skin, could come together to discriminate against people for their
sexual orientation without the slightest sense of irony."-- Wyatt Cenac
