The Lonely Carport

It's Friday the 13th!! It's been a pretty good one so far, except for the shitty drivers who live in my town. 

Anyways, I leave you guys with photos of the Lonely Carport which is located in my neighborhood.  It's a carport on a huge lot located off a street that has some really nice houses.  So, recently someone decided to put up a sign on the carport and now it makes me smile every time I run by it. 

Thanks for the laughs, who ever did that!

Hello amigos,

I'm sorry I've been a bit slow on the posts this week. I've been trying to get back into the swing of things after coming off a great vacation. So, I'm slow moving but I'm happy to report that I have a relaxing weekend up ahead. So that should mean I should be back in full blogging effect next week.

Anyways, I have this great video from Honda that reminds me of www.latfh.com. 
Also, I swear I saw Jesus Christ himself driving around town in a beat up Volvo yesterday. I'm starting to wonder if I should start a game called Hipster or Jesus? What do you think?

Portland and Oregon Part 2

Our trip continues on with our last night stay on the coast. We went to Tillamook, OR and I sort of got a bad feeling in my gut about the place. So, we headed back up north and stayed in the quiet beach town ofRockaway Beach, OR. We stayed in a great motel on the beach called the Tradewinds Motel in which they had convenient beer bottle openers in the bathroom and  it was quiet and peaceful. We didn't have a room facing the ocean, but we could still hear it and it was awesome.

The next morning we headed back to Portland bright and early and started our adventure back in Stumptown.  We went to Powell's book store and bought two books. Patrick bought a book about the history of Argentina and I bough a book about Evita Peron.  Yes, we always have Argentina on the mind. Powell's city of books is an independent book store that takes up a whole block. We seriously could have walked out with a whole library of libros, the selection was amazing!  Anyways, here is the rest of our trip via photos! Enjoy!!

I will wrap our trip with this amazing sunset that we were greeted with on the way home! That night we got to hang out with our good amiga Montse who is currently working hard in chiropractic school. We were happy she took break from studying the placenta to come out and hang with us Burqueños! Your shipment of green chile pistachios is almost on the way chica! 

As for Oregon, we will meet again soon!!

Portland and Oregon Part 1.

We had an amazing week of vacation and relaxation out in Oregon. We spent most of our time in Portland and stayed with our good friends Matt & Kat. They were amazing hosts and really showed us a good time in Oregon. Matt & Kat are the owners of bloop oatmeal and I will be writing a whole post about them soon because there is a lot of good stuff to say!

Flying out to Portland was interesting we faced two rain delays in New Mexico and one in Phoenix.  Pato and I though it was funny when we arrived to Portland, Oregon with sunny skies. Matt & Kat took us to some amazing eateries around town. Portland has this thing that if you are going to serve drinks at your bar, you have to serve food. Most of the bars served pretty good food too and healthy for you! So, not only was this trip relaxing, but the great tasting healthy food was an added plus!
So, the trip was blessed with good friends and new friends. Patrick and I got to see his old childhood friend Phil  and his lovely wife Beth who drove in from Seattle to see us.  We then proceeded to get caught up over beers....very LARGE beers.

So our trip was amazing and it was full of adventure, I could seriously write for days about what we did in Portland and what we saw around Oregon. But I think I'll let some of my photos do the talking. I do recommend Portland and Oregon as a place to add to your travel list!
